Private Lessons
The Immanuel School of Music offers private instruction in: Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass | Guitar | Ukulele | Piano | Organ | Harpsichord | Voice | Flute | Accordion | Trumpet | Trombone | Percussion | Rhythmic Studies
Our faculty members are professional musicians with university degrees in their discipline.
- We welcome students of all ages, including adults!
- Lessons are offered year round (Academic Year and Summer).
- New Students may start anytime in the year. Lessons will be prorated.
New Students: Please complete our Private Lesson Inquiry form and our staff will contact you as soon as possible to set up a lesson time!
Private lessons are offered at 2 locations:
Central Campus: 2551 Dixie Hwy, Lakeside Park, KY 41017
Boone Campus: 1440 Boone Aire Rd, Florence, KY 41042
Summer Session:
- The Summer Session for private lessons runs from June 2nd to August 31st. Confirm with your teacher regarding lesson length and their availability during the summer.
- Make-up lessons are not offered during the summer session. Only register for the number of weeks you will attend.
- Additional summer lessons may be scheduled after the initially registered lessons are completed, subject to mutual agreement between the teacher and student.
- Payment is made up front and in full for the summer session.
- 30-minute lesson: $33 per lesson
- 45-minute lesson: $47 per lesson
- 60-minute lesson: $58 per lesson

Summer Strings Club 2025
Thursdays: 5:00 - 6:30 pm
June 5th - July 25th, 2025
2025 Tuition: $175
Location: Central Campus
Attendance: We understand that students may miss a class or two due to family vacations, other activities, etc. Students are still encouraged to participate in the classes.
No audition required. Approximately 3rd-6th grade.
Fun weekly activities: Orchestra, sectionals, special workshops, and spirit wear contest!
2025 Final Concert: July 25 @ 7:00 pm

Cello Choir
June 2 – August 2, 2025
Tuition $140
Location: Central Campus
Enhance your summer with Cello Choir!
Adult Cello Choir: Mondays, 6:00 – 7:15pm
ISM Cello Choir: Mondays, 7:15 – 8:30pm
Six (6) weeks of fun class for 7th – 12th grade students
Attendance: We understand students may miss a week or two over the summer. Mrs. Hibbard will plan accordingly.
Final Concert August 2 @ 4:00pm

Summer Chamber Players 2025
Audition Required
June 2 - August 2, 2025 (flexible scheduling)
2025 Chamber Players Tuition: $200.
New students are welcomed.
Location: Central Campus
Chamber music experience for advanced, intermediate, and standard level students.
Experience music in a small ensemble setting for students of every level. Our faculty will work with groups of students (3-6 students per group) to refine and develop skills of leadership, musicality, and confidence.
Attendance: We understand that students may miss a class or two due to family vacations, other activities, etc. **Flexible scheduling to best accommodate the group as a whole.
Coachings: Eight (8) 60-minute coaching sessions. Each group is scheduled individually. Example coaching times are Mon, Tues, Wed, or Thurs from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Final Concert: Saturday, August 2 @ 4 pm.

Audition Requirements:
Standard Division (Bartel String Ensemble and Concert Strings or 2-4 years of experience)
- C Major Scale (2 octaves)
- G Major Scale (2 octaves)
- One prepared solo work that you have worked on with your private teacher
Intermediate Level (Youth String Orchestra or 4+ years of experience)
- A Major scale (2 octaves)
- B-flat Major scale (2 octaves)
- One prepared solo work that you have worked on with your private teacher
Advanced Level (Youth Sinfonia or 5+ years of experience)
- A-flat Major scale (3 octaves)
- B minor scale (3 octaves)
- One prepared solo work that you have worked on with your private teacher

The Composition Lab with London Scholle
June 3-August 2, 2025
Eight (8) Weeks of Lab for 7th -12th grade
TUESDAYS: 7:00 – 8:15 pm

Summer Guitar & Fretted Friends Class
June 5-July 31, 2025
New Students are welcomed.
Thursdays, 6:00-7:00 pm
2025 Tuition: $175
Location: Central Campus
Bring your favorite fretted instrument (Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo, Bass Guitar, Lap Dulcimer, and/or Mandolin)
This class will focus on:
- The 3 building blocks of music: Rhythm, Harmony, and Melody and how they are used to play songs.
- Forming chords, strum basic rhythms, and use scales to create melodies.
- Playing with others as a group.
- Reading the different forms of music notation common for fretted instruments, such as standard notation, chord charts, and tablature.
- Learning common styles of music like rock, pop, and classical.

Rhythmic Studies
Take your musical skills to the next level. No previous experience required.
Offered as Private Lessons and "Pop-Up" Events.
Location: Central Campus
All ages - instrumentalists, vocalist, and musical levels welcomed.
About Rhythmic Studies: Rhythm is universally used in every form of music both instrumentally and vocally. Get ready to count, tap out rhythms, move, and feel the beat.

Note: "Pop-Up" Event Topics are subject to change. Additional topics may be added upon request. A minimum number of students is required per "Pop-Up" Event.

May students repeat Workshop Sessions? YES! Each session is slightly different. Students may take sessions multiple times with a new experience each session.

Co-taught by mother-daughter team –
Julie Geiman, Education Director & Monica Geiman, ISM Alumni / Student Teacher.
Meet Monica: Monica is currently a double major at the University of Kentucky in Violin Performance and Arts Administration. She is a student teacher for the UK Strings Project and an intern for GSA Summer 2025. Monica is a proud ISM Alumni and former Sinfonia Concert Master. During her time as an ISM student, she was a member of the ISM Student Quartet, an ISM Mentor, Mozart student teacher, and an ISM Intern.
